As a physician I’ve been dedicated to my profession serving my patients to bring health, happiness and freedom to their lives; and to medical students, residents and fellows to be excellent, knowledgeable, compassionate physicians of the future for many years. I’ve always believed in quality education and equality and never stopped learning. For me, there is always more to learn, more to see, more to read, but what about others who are not fortunate enough like me and like all of you to have the possibility of going to school, getting a good education, living a powerful life with no boundaries and a life that they love?
Some of you may already know that I’ve been thinking for a good while about how I can make a differences in peoples’ lives, especially girls and boys who are not as fortunate as we are, living in difficult conditions in rural Türkiye. So, time is up for me. As a woman, as a human being, I am reaching out to provide what I can. I volunteered to form the New York Giving Circle under Bridge to Türkiye Fund (BTF), trusting and believing in you to be with me.
Friends, I cannot do this alone. I need your support to reach out to more people and to be as creative and effective as possible. Please checkout BTF’s website, consider donating and getting involved. Our first project is for Kızılyusuf Primary School in Muş. Your donations will be reaching these kids as warm coats, new boots and socks thorough BTF’s bridge of kindness. I am excited and proud to be part of BTF. I invite you to join me and be a cause for change in making a difference.
Thank You, Gül Bahtiyar
