Are you a Turkish American aged 18–22, eager for a summer filled with meaningful discussions, cultural experiences and a deeper connection to your heritage? Bridge to Türkiye Fund warmly invites you to apply for the 10th annual Nâzım Hikmet Summer Camp, set amidst the beautiful surroundings of Büyükada, Istanbul, from July 27 to August 4, 2025.
Celebrating a decade of inspiration and engagement, the Nâzım Hikmet Camp isn’t just another summer program. Organized in collaboration with Adalar Vakfı, Toplum Gönüllüleri Vakfı, and renowned author Gündüz Vassaf, and dedicated this year to the memory of Nâzım Hikmet’s son Mehmet Hikmet, the Camp fosters meaningful dialogue, cultural exchange, and lasting connections.
Participants will delve deeply into pressing topics such as literature, climate change, identity, and resilience. These thought-provoking discussions and interactive workshops will empower attendees to develop fresh perspectives and innovative ideas aimed at fostering social change within their communities.
The camp uniquely blends immersive experiences: exploring Istanbul’s vibrant culture, engaging in enriching workshops, and collaborating on sustainable projects with local youth, including peers from the Princes’ Islands and those affected by the recent earthquake in Türkiye. Past attendees frequently describe the camp as a life-changing experience, many returning as mentors to inspire the next generation of participants.
Your participation includes local transportation within Istanbul, accommodation, meals, activities, and accident insurance—all covered by a minimum $500 donation to BTF’s fundraiser supporting Adalar Vakfı. Waivers may be available for eligible participants.
Interested candidates should submit applications by May 23, 2025. Selected participants will be announced by June 2, 2025.
