Behind each of these numbers is a community that came together to support students across Türkiye. Take a closer look at the events and campaigns that made it possible.
Wine Night with Çağatay
On October 4, 2025, BTF’s San Diego Circle hosted Wine Night with Çağatay. The gathering celebrated both culture and compassion, and proceeds helped fund scholarships for 12 students for a full year, supporting their ability to continue their education across Türkiye. These scholarships help cover tuition, housing, transportation, and everyday expenses. This support is essential to easing the financial burdens that might otherwise stand between students and their education.
Giving Tuesday 2025
For BTF’s Giving Tuesday campaign, the San Diego Circle came together to help students in Türkiye start the school year with essential resources. Their support reached 240 students across two schools: 70 students at Akbaba Middle School in Kars and 170 students at Çimenli Borsa İstanbul Middle School in Hakkari.
Every student received a school bag and stationery, while additional support was tailored to each school’s needs. Akbaba received books for kindergarten, elementary, and middle school students, along with sports equipment, cognitive training games, and educational toys. Çimenli Borsa İstanbul also received sports equipment and art supplies.
Thanks to this campaign, students at both schools began the year better equipped for a productive and enriching school year.
Cinema4aCause: Fidan
On March 8, 2026, International Women’s Day, San Diego’s Cinema4aCause brought together film lovers and supporters for a screening of “Fidan,” the story of a 13-year-old girl who earns a place at her country’s most prestigious high school but must leave behind a grieving family to pursue it. Her story reflects the difficult choices many girls across rural Türkiye face in pursuing their education, but also the possibilities that open when they have the opportunity to do so. In honor of the day, donations from the evening contributed toward seven scholarships for a full year, helping more girls access the opportunity to shape their own futures and write their own version of Fidan’s story.

Thanks to the generosity of attendees, the San Diego Circle raised enough to fund a full year of scholarships for 16 students. For these 16 girls, this means another year of classrooms, books, and the chance to keep building toward their futures.
