From Emergency Response to Lasting Impact: Apple Employee Giving to BTF, 2022 to 2026
Between July 1, 2022, and June 30, 2026, Apple employees demonstrated extraordinary solidarity, mobilizing a grand total of $421,946.52 across 4,359 individual donations to the Bridge to Türkiye Fund (BTF).
This report highlights the impact of these contributions, which evolved from a rapid emergency response following the devastating February 2023 earthquakes into sustained, multi-year investments in education, scholarships, and children’s wellbeing across Türkiye.
APPLE EMPLOYEE GIVING TRENDS OVER TIME
Analysis of donor trends shows a remarkable peak during FY 2022-2023, when 1,550 distinct donors contributed $369,857.28 through 4,049 donations in response to the Kahramanmaraş earthquake disaster.
In the years that followed, a dedicated core of Apple donors has sustained a steady cadence of program funding, with annual totals growing every year: $16,986.05 in FY 2023-2024, $17,338.79 in FY 2024-2025, and $17,764.40 in FY 2025-2026. FY 2025-2026 also delivered the highest number of donations since the earthquake year (122 donations, up 33% from 92), and the annual giving per donor rose to about $990 across 18 donors, up from about $710 across 24 donors in FY 2023-2024. The steady commitment of these donors shows what a small, dedicated group can make possible.
Pillar 1: Emergency Response & Rehabilitation
The largest share of Apple employees’ contribution footprint was direct humanitarian and medical assistance. Out of the total funds raised, $334,238.04 (79%) went to disaster relief and recovery: $333,038.04 in the first year, plus $1,200 in later years. Project CATE received an additional $1,013.60.
These funds allowed BTF to collaborate with trusted local NGO partners on the ground to provide rapid, life-saving emergency relief (tents, containers, clean water, blankets, warm meals) and support ongoing community rehabilitation projects.
Special Focus: Launched in February 2023 by BTF and a group of Turkish-American doctors, Project CATE provides specialized support to children who lost limbs in the earthquakes. Across the program, and with the support of a broad community of partners, Project CATE funds prosthetic limbs, personalized physical therapy, and academic scholarships for 131 amputee children at the Child Wellness Center, supporting their rehabilitation and well-being into adulthood.
During FY 2022-23, Apple employees contributed $1,013.60 in targeted funding through 5 donations, helping fund this program-wide effort. Because children outgrow their prostheses as they develop, and each new limb costs an average of $7,000, every contribution toward this ongoing need makes a meaningful difference.
Pillar 2: Investing in the Next Generation
Apple employees recognized that recovery is a multi-year journey. Beyond emergency relief, they invested in education, contributing a total of $48,451.62 toward programs that help open doors to academic opportunity. Scholarship giving in particular has grown every single year, nearly tripling from $5,647.94 in FY 2022-2023 to $15,455.54 in FY 2025-2026, and accounted for 87% of all Apple employee giving in FY 2025-2026. The chart below shows how ongoing contributions were distributed across BTF programs, with education making up the largest share.
Detailed Academic & Sustained Program Impacts
This program provides life-changing opportunities for high-achieving, underprivileged students. Through BTF’s work with more than 50 local NGO partners, including high school and university alumni associations, scholarship funds from Apple employees help pave the way for academic and professional success across the country. With 262 donations, this is the largest sustained program supported by Apple donors, with gifts growing from 38 in FY 2022–2023 to 107 in FY 2025–2026.
Rural village teachers count on BTF to enhance learning. This program equips schools with essential tools, science kits, and library books. Apple employees helped fund classroom supplies in every year of the giving period, showing how a contribution of just $25 can help transform a child’s learning environment.
Helped rebuild and restore libraries, classrooms, and student dormitories in underserved areas, creating secure, modern educational spaces.
Provided flexible support for educational programs and student needs beyond scholarships and supplies.
Pillar 3: Structural Resilience & Systemic Health
Apple employees provided vital structural resilience. These unrestricted contributions allow BTF to direct resources immediately where they are needed most, ensuring operational continuity and the capacity to pivot rapidly during emerging crises.
Contributions helped fund specialized projects supporting the physical and mental health of young people in underserved communities ($1,434.48). In FY 2025–2026, Apple employees also made their first gift toward community-led reforestation and green initiatives ($25.72), contributing to efforts to protect Türkiye’s natural resources.
