Fundraiser for My Friend Diabetes Family Camp

“My Friend Diabetes Family Camp” organized in Iznik since 1997 and in Diyarbakir since 2011 with the aim of improving the education and health of children with diabetes. Many families who send their children to these camps express their desire to organize similar camps for themselves. They express a need for the same comprehensive education their children receive and emphasize the importance of sharing experiences and interacting with other families who have children with diabetes.

“My Friend Diabetes Family Camp” has been planned to respond to the requests expressed over the years, to meet the newly emerging educational needs for better treatment of children with diabetes, and to complete the chain of value creation in our work, which we call the ‘Comprehensive Child Diabetes Program’.”

Aims of My Friend Diabetes Family Camp

* To empower families and children with diabetes to become competent in diabetes care and treatment and to cope with the challenges of diabetes care.

* To ensure that children with diabetes see other children using insulin and other treatment tools, helping them feel less isolated in their experiences.

* Provide advanced training on new treatments and technologies.

* To enable families of children with diabetes to gain a better understanding of and effectively manage the changes and challenges their children face.

* Providing an environment where experiences are shared, and democratic parenting attitudes are valued.
