Contemporary Education Foundation (COEDFO) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the education of the children-especially disadvantaged girls and boys throughout the world. We believe through education we will be able to help children reach their potential and become confident and productive adults in the society.
COEDFO was established in 2010 by a group of Turkish-Americans residing in Dallas, Texas area and received Tax-Exempt status as a charitable non-profit organization under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(C)(3).
Our current projects include:
- Full university academic scholarships for disadvantaged students, number of scholarships varied depending on the donations
- Partnership with Ponca Native American Nation after school educational program
- Partnering with Dallas CAN Academy and provide scholarships
- Healthy Foods for Kids program
- COEDFO Academic Scholarship for students pursuing an undergraduate degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Arts, or Nursing/Medical fields
COEDFO is managed by volunteer Board Members. In order to be able to support the projects, the organization relies on fundraising events throughout the year such as Jazz in the Garden, membership and their dues, as well as individual and corporation partner donations.
